The Scientific Brain

We will explore the different facets that nurture creativity from scientific thought.

The colloquium will aim to learn about the latest advances in science at the international level. The speakers are five renowned experts who, through talks and panels, will share new findings that will shape the future of science and our planet.

We will talk about how a true scientific brain develops and about the fascinating work of those who operate at the intersection of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).

The event will feature Ulrike Kuchner, astronomer and artist; Ryugo Hayano, CERN astrophysicist; Shawn Marshall, glacier climatologist; Andy Shouse of STEM; and Trevor Towsend, inventor of the family-friendly 3D desktop scanner.

With the support of the European Space Agency, the international traveling exhibition, “Our Place in Space”, which featured the artistic work of Ulrike Kuchner and to which six Colombian artists and students from Hacienda Los Alcaparros were invited to create and exhibit works inspired by images from the Hubble telescope.
