Guardians of Water – Grulac Jr. Chingaza
The territory and nature provide us with a space where human interaction becomes an opportunity to develop our potential, fostering both individual and collective growth. Inspired by this vision and in collaboration with the PRAE program and Grulac Jr., we hosted the first meeting of girls, boys, and adolescents dedicated to the care of tomorrow’s water.
Held in alliance with the Ministry of National Education, National Natural Parks, and with the support of institutions such as the Bogotá Secretary of Education, CENSAT, Bogotá Aqueduct, and the Humboldt Institute, this event was part of an educational process aimed at encouraging active participation from children, adolescents, and teachers in crucial topics such as the Chingaza National Natural Park, water scarcity, and participatory conservation processes. The focus was to promote harmonious coexistence with nature and foster collaboration in the protection of our water resources.
Nearly 20 public and private schools located near the páramo and Chingaza National Natural Park participated: from El Calvario in Meta, to Sopó, Guasca, Bogotá, and La Calera. These schools created spaces for dialogue and reflection on the protection and care of water, highlighting the importance of uniting efforts to ensure the sustainability of our natural resources.
