Creative Arts

We develop sensitivity, initiative, invention and creativity.

We consider art education as a fundamental part of the students’ education.

It allows us to transmit what we know and who we are, that is why we include music, theater and plastic arts in our curriculum, placing them on the same level of importance as traditional subjects.

At Los Alcaparros we know that all children are artists by nature, and that art allows them to express themselves: to express what they know and also what they are. It allows them to propose and easily achieve success. It gives them the possibility to create their own space and their own time, from a playful point of view.

Through art, students refine their senses, enrich their sensitivity, awaken their aesthetic perspective, so vital to understand and value other aspects of human knowledge, and express their identity by giving meaning to their ideas about themselves and about the natural and built world in which they live.

We are pioneers in Colombia in introducing artistic expression into the curriculum.

Music

Music education at Alcaparros is fundamental for students to develop cognitive skills. Our approach to music is not only about learning to play an instrument or sing in a choir, but also focuses on developing skills such as attention, memory, creativity and teamwork. These skills are fundamental to success in any area of life and music education is an effective way to develop them.

Visual Arts

The visual arts provide us with a space in which we can explore and develop our creativity individually and collectively. In addition, they invite us to reflect on our environment, our role in society and the relationship we have with the world around us, allowing us to connect in a deeper way with our own identity and with the reality that surrounds us.

Theater

Theater is a unique and powerful way to form actors of life. It is a valuable pedagogical tool that allows students to explore different aspects of life and develop fundamental skills for their personal growth. By being part of the theater group, students not only learn acting techniques, but also develop social and emotional skills, such as self-confidence, empathy and the ability to work as part of a team.

“If a child hears good music from birth and learns to play it himself, he develops his sensitivity, discipline and patience; he acquires a beautiful heart.”
